CLIL — Content and Language Integrated Learning — is the approach of teaching a subject through English. The learner takes on two things at once: the content of the subject and the language that carries it.
The approach is spreading through international schools and summer programmes, and demand for teachers who can deliver maths, science and geography in English is particularly high across Asia.
If you have a background in a subject — history, literature, biology, maths — this qualification joins that knowledge to language teaching. For a teacher tired of General English, it is also a new direction.
The qualification is awarded by Highfield Qualifications under Ofqual regulation and aligned with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).
